Mind Fuck Tuesday: Shadow People

It’s another issue of my Tuesday special, trying to open your minds and make you question everything. Today’s subject is Shadow People, those creepy things caught out of the corner of one’s eye at first, then whisk away when they realize they’re being seen. These “beings” are a dense black color, sometimes 4-feet tall and human shaped, other times tall and slender and with a top hat, as well. Here are some theories tossed about: They are noncorporeal beings (having never been in human form) They are evil demons They are spirits having trouble forming They are beings from another dimension They are a projection of our own dark side Okay all these explanations being told, let’s look at some things a bit more unconventional. Today's Mind Fuck: What if shadow people are a being that is always there, thought we couldn’t see them, but are being seen more and more because people use TV and computer screens that refresh so rapidly our eyes are becoming sensitive to things we couldn’t see ...

How Do You Know If It's Residual?

Let’s begin with what residual hauntings are. Many people word it differently, but it basically is a phenomenon in which an event from the past is played out in a loop-like fashion without regard to anything happening around it. It is not guided by an intelligent spirit but more like a movie replaying. Honestly, after almost 8 years officially hunting and I still can’t tell you I’ve witnessed an intelligent haunting that I believe meant I was interacting with an actual spirit. That said, I can tell you that if you've experienced a haunting event, the odds are it was residual. How do you know? If the activity occurs in one area and doesn’t seem to leave it, it’s residual. If you saw a full-body apparition but always in the kitchen, it’s residual. If the footsteps you hear are always on the stairs, it’s residual. If you tend to smell pipe smoke in one corner of your den, it’s residual. If it doesn’t react to what is going on or what you say to it, it’s residual. If the sound of voice...

Ben Hansen "Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files"

Okay, okay, okay. I’ve heard it from ya’all enough times. I do have a slight crush on Ben Hansen from FoF, but I have always had a thing for smart guys with honest curiosity and ethics. Oh, and the premise of his show curls my toes. That combination is great, but what’s even better is Ben in 3D. Yeah! He came to my apartment to meet me on Saturday while he was in town. Now, is that a sweetheart or what? He is exactly as I knew he would be; intelligent, honest, curious and open-minded. He walks the same tightrope I do between logic and the paranormal. A natural born-leader, eager to study things from all angles, he wishes to see the show become more documentary-like in its depth and investigation. He’d also love to see them handle current hot issues as they happen, although the planning involved in plotting out a show and hitting the road to find new phenomenon as it happens is a nightmare. Given the limitations of everyone having a finger in the pie that is “Fact or Faked: Paranormal F...

"Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files" Reviewed BINGO!

It got chilly here, so today's shot has a scarf to keep me from getting too nippy. Well, it's that time again. Time to discuss FoF. I was very excited about this episode purely for the creep factor and not for credibility. My favorite show while it was on was "UFO Hunters" and one of the things I adored about it was how they tackled highly controversial type cases involving government conspiracies and alien visiations. This episode gave me that feeling for sure. Others who saw it emailed me while watching it saying " this is the best one ever! " What's been missing for me has been the creepy factor and they got it with the Fresno walking sticks video and that had people talking a lot and still talking about it. This episode did the same thing. I want it to be more like X-Files cryptid episodes that make your skin crawl. I think FoF found our viewer G-spot! First, let me get this off my chest: CABLE CHANNELS QUIT GIVING IT UP THE BUTT TO THE PEOPLE WHO LI...

How To Talk To Ghosts

Ghost hunting shows portray bad technique left and right, but my biggest pet peeve is their EVP sessions! Imagine you're sitting at home and all at once people enter your home and begin grilling you with questions: "What is your name?" "Why are you here?" "Give me a sign of your presence." "Do you know what year it is?" "I dare you to punch me, kick me, yell at me!" Would you tell them to get the fuck out of your home, you're not answering a question from strangers invading your space? That being said, there are subtle ways to begin a conversation with the other side that are engaging and possess a genuine quality. You know how dogs can sense your fear? Well, it appears to apply to spirits, as well. Your intentions show quite obviously. Enter the space and give it some admiration. " This is beautiful. I love the mantle ." Sit down with your other member(s) and chit chat about your day, the traffic, your family, and all...

Hounds of Hell: Last Night's Terror

Legends of the Hounds of Hell are that they are supernatural dogs that guard the entrances to the world of the dead, such as graveyards and burial grounds, or undertake other duties related to the afterlife or the supernatural, such as hunting down lost souls or guarding a supernatural treasure. Some say they work for the devil and collect the souls due to him. This mad pack of canines is a haunting image, even more so considering last night. I awakened at 3:30 am to the sounds of whooping and screaming. I thought at first in my half-dream state that someone won a football game. I sat up in bed and looked around the black room as the sounds became so loud that I was certain this insane cacaphony was on my back patio next to the arcadia door in my bedroom. I covered my ears just as I heard the people above me slide open their arcadia door to look out. The pack came right up near the fencing, screaming wildly like a thousand tortured hounds. They were not 20 feet from my patio. Luckily t...

Tonight's "Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files" SyFy

The team tries to walk through a video with the man who filmed the unexplained. A scene set among evergreens in the forest causes the man to feel immediate sickness and pressure when coming in contact with an unknown creature. Everything that happens leaves the man lost for logic. *Don't forget tomorrow's review on here with the tank top shot.*
