GHT in 2017

- 2017 for GHOST HUNTING THEORIES - GHT has been an evolving blog. It began with me exploring the mysteries that most attract my attention and sharing my research into the paranormal starting in 2008. It evolved over time to include pieces about researchers and explorers, witnesses and more. I have taken everyone into the subjects with a new look at them from a different perspective to open minds and insert wonder (my tagline). But, what's up for 2017? I have fallen deeper into the research rabbit hole and connected with some of the best researchers and explorers. I plan to bring a lot more outdoor adventures pieces that involve strange finds, unexplained, Urbex, Bigfoot, UFOs, and more.  I see 2017 for me as a be a big shift in how I work, from being at the keyboard to going out on sites and sharing live much more often.  I expect more publications to be uploaded to academia.edu as well, including tomorrow's post on the Evolution of Bigfoot. This is honestly, one of my favor

The Case of the Abandoned Ghost Ship

An abandoned ghost ship that left a lot of questions about what happened to the crew tops the list of unexplained Kolchak-esque scenarios. Let's have a look at this particular case -  (Intro to "Kolchak: The Night Stalker") The sea is a cruel mistress. She giveth and she taketh away.   It was early December 1872 when Captain David Morehouse of Nova Scotia was commandeering his ship, "Dei Gratia," through the cool breeze toward Portugal when he made out the shape of another brigantine in the horizon. She was cutting back and forth oddly and the set of her sails were all wrong. After signalling and seeing no one on the deck, the captain sent two of his men to investigate.  * One month earlier in 1872, an American merchant ship set out on a routine course from New York to Genoa. The crew was experienced and nothing about the journey led one to believe it would go wrong. The Mary Celeste was a masted brigantine led by one Captain Benjamin Briggs. The Captain was a v

Amazing Footprints Found Around the World!

(closer examination  shows 6 toes ) You may or may not believe this print (above - found in South Africa, said to be billions of years old rock) as a genuine footprint of some unbelievable giant from hundreds of millions of years ago and set into rock, but there have been unusual, either large footprints or very ancient ones found around the world. Footprints of Eve   117,000 years ago  This fossilized set of footprints was found in South Africa. They were dated to approximately 117,000 years ago. They are recorded as the oldest known footprints of modern man. These were referred to as Eve's footprints because this woman existed around the time of the DNA Eve from which all Homo Sapiens mitochondria come from. For anyone wondering, she was about a size 7-1/2 American sizes for females today. Piska Nagri   In 2013 in India, a geologist found these larger than normal footprints. The prints look like they are a depression in the rock and appear to have leather souled shoes and not bar

Vintage Para Movies By Decade

Let's have a look today at the now-vintage movies that once gave us our first taste of the para realm and our love for the unknown. I'm breaking it down by decade. 50s The 1950s led us into the SciFi Era big time. It also introduced us to expeditions (the vogue at the time) that came across amazing "creatures" (yeti, Bigfoot) and haunting/gothic movies were in vogue.  Creature From the Black Lagoon A strange prehistoric beast lurks in the depths of the Amazonian jungle. A group of scientists try to capture the animal and bring it back to civilization for study. This film got us wondering about what might be hidden in the ground, archaeological digs, and the implications of a cryptid in the marshes.  The Abominable Snowman of the Himalayas A kindly English botanist and a gruff American scientist lead an expedition to the Himalayas in search of the legendary Yeti. This got all of us in the adventuring age of the 50s, the concept of an ice man that could attack Everest c

The Urban Sasquatch Journal: Here, There and Everywhere

This is the reporting by a Bigfoot researcher of an ongoing study in the Southern part of the United States in a very large park area near homes and urban setting. Link to the series Journal Volume 3 Field Report #39 Friday September 30, 2016 I came straight from work to the park. I arrived at 1:40 PM. The temperature was 81, cool with a clear blue sky and some high clouds. It was an awesome afternoon. I had no bike with me so it was to be hiked to 1B. On the way, close to the 0.25 mile marker and a little ways to the east off the trail, I observed the following: #1. Just off the south side of the trail before the 0.25 mile marker, recently these sticks had been laid out in a pointer glyph. Now they were scattered. ???? #2. and #3. I took the sticks and put them behind a tree off the trail behind the 0.25 mile marker. #4. and #5. Walking on to the east on the trail, I stopped at the small cedar tree. I took sticks from within the treeline and made this glyph. #6. and #7. Walking furthe
