Clan of the Cave Warrior: Accidental Bigfoot?

This is an ongoing series about explorer and spelunker, Ken Gentry , and his many encounters with amazing wonders and mysteries on and in our planet. It was about 30 years ago when a honeymooning couple took to the Sierras on a romantic getaway to celebrate their new union. They headed out to the Black Rock region in an area that had a high traffic of Bigfoot, something they weren't aware of at the time. Armed with a camera, they took many photos of their memorable time together, photos that would later be developed at the drugstore like any other person in the time before digital cameras. It was many decades later that their son would take the photo to Ken to ask him what that was up on the rock shelf. His parents had baffled over the sighting of something up on a rock up above the wife who was posing. (see white arrow pointing up at it) Zoomed in closer -  zoomed in even closer - appears to be seated When the photos were developed, a few days later, they hiked back up there to f...

Clan of the Cave Warrior: Secret Harvesters Versus Sasquatch!

This is an ongoing series about explorer and spelunker, Ken Gentry , and his many encounters with amazing wonders and mysteries on and in our planet. Prior installments ( LINK ) Word got around the community of the Sierras that Ken was the go-to guy for all things unexplained, unbelievable, and incredible in one of the most spectacular mountain ranges in the world. Someone directed Ken to meet a man in charge of illegal crop growing in the Sierras to talk about a certain unacknowledged resident of the mountain range.  It was a lot of territory to get lost in and hide such things. Curious by nature, Ken met this successful man and had a good talk with him about some in's and out's of Bigfoot in the mountains. They sat down to talk in a cafe. The man told Ken in some detail about how they keep growing in an area if they haven't been discovered, and how they moved out of some areas where they had some bad, uh, encounters. ... Ken asked where these encounters were.  Teakettle, ...

Clan of the Cave Warrior: Chasing Pterosaurs

This is an ongoing series about explorer and spelunker,  Ken Gentry , and his many encounters with amazing wonders and mysteries on and in our planet . Link to prior installments Pterosaurs are considered a kind of flying reptile, relative to the dinosaurs, that flew the skies in the era of dinosaurs up to 66 million years ago. Their time on earth was around 150 million years prior to that. They came in any size from a F-16 plane to a paper airplane.  Today, "ropen" are seen around the world and thought to still exist in certain areas from the South Pacific to the Americas from South America all the way up to the Western United States. Ken Gentry shared that about 10 years ago at the Woodlake Rodeo Grounds in Woodlake, California, a man preparing the animals for the rodeo, along with 20 other people, witnessed what appeared to be a pterodactyl flying overhead.  A friend of Ken's was gathering wood in Squaw Valley for some firewood for his home. He saw one leave out of a c...

Clan of the Cave Warrior: Ongoing Government Study of Bigfoot

This is an ongoing series about explorer and spelunker,  Ken Gentry , and his many encounters with amazing wonders and mysteries on and in our planet . Link to prior installment Evolution Valley, California, in King's Canyon Park (John Muir Wilderness) region is about as remote and pristine as you can get in the Sierra Nevada Range. It was originally mapped and explored by Theodore Solomons and E.C. Bonner of the US Geological Survey in 1895.  One of the mountains rising above the basin is named Mt. Darwin. Other areas are named after primatologists like McClure Meadow and Goddard Canyon.  Mount Fiske, Mount Haeckel, Mount Huxley, Mount Spencer, and Mount Wallace, Mount Lamarck and Mount Mendel were features named from famous naturalists. Solomons Solomons and Bonner claimed they named the area Evolution Valley because they were inspired by Darwin's work and theory.  Elevations reach into the 11,000-foot mark in this area and the trail pass season is only from August...

Clan of the Cave Warrior: The Search For the Phantom of Homer's Nose

This is an ongoing series about explorer and spelunker, Ken Gentry , and his many encounters with amazing wonders and mysteries on and in our planet . They call it "Homer's Nose." It's a large rock formation in the Sequoia National Park located way up a steep mountain. It can take about 6-7 hours to reach by arduous means.  Ken and a team of explorers went in search of a cave located up there. Since little was written about it, they were surprised to find it had a vertical entrance. They chalked it up to another exhausting feature that also made it totally worth the exploration.  It seems that the most amazing places are the ones that have had few human eyes upon them. Ken had a few things on his side as he tackled this location. His father was an historian and that made Ken want to dive deep into the tiny bits of information available about this rugged location. He also came from a line of surveyors so looking at an area and figuring its best approach was something a...

Clan of the Cave Warrior Series

Upon occasion as a researcher, I run into the real deal; a researcher who has integrity, experience, respect and intelligence. I was very lucky the day I ran across Ken Gentry and came to know the unbelievable depth of his knowledge and experience. Ken Gentry is one of those rare men whose entire life led him to the obvious conclusion. Ken’s father was a researcher and historian and his family lineage includes surveyors with very practical techniques and love for the great outdoors. Ken’s family helped form his ethics and his commitment, his knowledge, and his resolve to stick to what he starts, even if it’s like unraveling a string that leads to an endlessly replenishing ball of twine. He is an explorer, a maverick, an archivist of planet earth . A new series called “Clan of the Cave Warrior” begins next Wednesday on Ghost Hunting Theories. This will chronicle many amazing finds, adventures, insights about the natural world and the unnatural world, as well as many encounters with cryp...
