"Finding Bigfoot" Reviewed

This episode of F'ing Bigfoot was in Ohio. I have to admit to being skeptical about BF activity in the Ohio area. I suppose closer to WV, it could be possible. I absolutely believe it exists in WV, where I had an amazing encounter at nighttime in 2005 at a protected area where hunters weren't allowed and wildlife was so plentiful, it was like the Garden of Eden, as well the entire landscape riddled with more caves than anyone could explore in a lifetime. If Ohio has similar conditions, I could see it being possible. I just think population density around there would make a state park a very small habitat for breeding.

Luckily on the squatch count, this episode was strangely less "squatch" and much much more "Bigfoot." glad I don't take a drink for every BF or squatch. I'd have to call into work the next day. Squatch count was 33.

It wasn't a horribly eventful episode, but I love to see how they tackle each situation. What I appreciate so much about the team is that they aren't like TAPS on ghost hunts. There is no routine. They bring in new techniques, new ways of tackling each case depending on the witness statements.

Man, I love this show! Animal Planet, please pick it up for another few seasons right away! Best things on the episode: Stover's eyewitness description of BF was chillingly real, totally authentic. I like that they are willing to let one guy remain and campout (well, not totally alone, there's a crew there), but the concept is a cool one. With 4 people, tons of land to cover and witnesses to interview, it's not an easy task. I like that they're willing to try new techniques and mix it up. Good for them! Not on my top favorite episodes because I never had a "that was a squatch" feeling moment, but hey I get to see my favorite 4 hit the woods and say squatch way too much.

The ocean takes up the majority of the surface on our world and yet so little of what is in it is known to us. Upon occasion, we come across some real mysteries, tantalizing glimpses that make us wonder. For a long time, the giant squid (above) was a legend until it was finally filmed underwater. What other legends might tell us what is in the sea? One creative thinker in 1570 drew up the sea monsters that lay in the waters outside of Iceland. Desert-Dwelling Bigfoot: Yucca Man

There are well known reports of Bigfoot wandering the American Northwest, the Sierras, the Rockies, the Mississippi River corridor and even Florida and the Northeast, but there are Bigfoot reported in deserts too. Ghost Ships and Fata Morgana Mirages

Fata Morgana Fata Morgana is a complex superior mirage. In this instance, in the horizon a narrow band seen can separate an image, casting what looks like another image superior to the original object. In the image above it appears as if the ship is in the air. Below, the image shows a repeat of it up in the air. Sometimes, the image can be inverted. This occurs when rays of light are bent when they pass through layers that are different temperatures. Flying Dutchman This legend is talked about among sailors since the late 1700s. Monsters in the Sewers

There was a fantastic X-Files episode involving a sewer-dwelling monster. It was so creepy and distasteful that it almost fascinates the viewer to wonder, what the heck is down in our sewers? I grew up in the 70s when the talk of alligators in the sewers were rampant. The legend went, someone flushed a baby alligator down the toilet and it ended up occupying the sewers of New York City. There were a lot of variations of it, but one of those urban legends that leaves you checking out your toilet before you take a seat. In Florida, a man went out to get his male, heard something hissing at him, looked over at the sewer open and found an alligator sending him warning signals. This is the reporting by a Bigfoot researcher of an ongoing study in the Southern part of the United States in a very large park area near homes and urban setting.
