Mind Fuck Tuesday: Aliens, Halloysite, Earth Mounds

Aliens, Ancient Mound Builders and Halloysite By Gina Hana, with input from Steve Summar, Jim Heater, and Sally Ramey HALLOYSITE Many people assume that mining areas for gold and copper were popular attractions for ancient alien visitors, but perhaps that is not the material they would have been seeking for technology. Halloysite , is utilized in nanotechnology, a new study for us humans, but perhaps not for other beings in the universe. NASA has looked at its applications for interstellar travel in the form of nanobots for astronauts to protect their bodies from radiation, tumors and disease processes.   There are countless potential applications for an army of controlling nanobots to handle subsystems in spacecraft, maintain health of the biological beings on board, and manage cloaking devices, weaponry, propulsion and more. Today, nanotechnology companies are looking at some exceptional applications for this exciting new field. From the promising company, NaturalNano : Naturall...

Hag Syndrome: They Sit Upon Your Chest

The other night, I had a dark dream in which a brittle, slender woman with long silvery tangled hair and a gown that looked like torn wispy seaweed like tatters, climbed upon my chest, over my body and I woke up thrashing to get her off. I gasped for air. Allergies had me completely congested. I rolled onto my side, but that unbelievably real image of the wizened woman plopping down on my chest sent a shiver through me. It was so real! Sleep paralysis combined with sleep apnea (breathing pauses) combine to make a sense of something smothering one, sitting upon their chest, sucking out their breath. Lots of cultures didn't understand the shift between sleep cycles when paralysis is important during the dream state for the body to not act out dreams. Upon occasion, the body is still in paralysis while the mind is coming awake and hallucinations combine with inability to move to create everything from alien abduction, incubus, old hag syndrome, and many other scenarios to the trouble...

Recap of Finding Bigfoot

Ranae believes that Orang Pendek, the smaller Bigfoot-variation of Indonesia is much more feasible than the Bigfoot of the Northwest. They spoke with an expert about where these creatures have been showing up in areas that are deforesting. A farmer on the edge of the volcano describe the scary sound the creature made when he encountered it.  The man described a fairly short creature, perhaps 4 and a half feet tall, arms the size of most people's thighs, huge chest area, long large face covered in hair that was silvery. Best lines Matt:   "He's just the best guy to hook up with." Bobo:  "They're kind of criminally minded, it seems like." Matt:   "We gotta try to do something with fruit here." Bobo:   "I know I'm not gonna pass up any fruit pizzas." Ranae:   Sounds like a "wha! wha!"  Bobo:   She's pretty thick-headed about this kind of stuff. They went out at night to check out the area where the man had seen an oran...

Finding Bigfoot Tonight On Animal Planet

Tonight's Finding Bigfoot episode on Animal Planet is an exciting one!  Orang Pendek, the Sumatran version of Bigfoot. This is a being that I have absolute belief in! I will do a review for the blog tomorrow and share the best lines of the episode as usual.

Grief and Ghost Hunting

Ghost hunting and grief don't always go hand-in-hand but many people seeking answers about the afterlife begin with a loss in their lives. Even those not motivated by the loss of a loved one, still wish to know how to handle grief, the natural process of someone passing on to whatever plane he now inhabits. I know few people with as many experiences with grief as I have had. The youngest on both sides of a large family, I always knew since I was little that I'd be escorting my seniors from this world. In my case, it ended up many died before their time and many were also my friends and peers. Having counted it out one time it was over 2 dozen! The first one that greatly affected me was as a child when my most beloved uncle, Uncle Jerry, died of cancer. I couldn't equate in my young mind just where he had gone. My Sunday school was more about coloring books than real answers. I stared at the sky and wondered if he was peering down at me in some kind of white angelic gown. Ma...

Ghost Adventures Drinking Game

"Obsessions and Possessions" Zak baby does them best! Tonight's episode summarizes all the dark obsessions and possessions Zak and the Boyz have had on their wild adventures in lock-downs. Drinking game rules: 1. Stay home. 2. Take a sip for every "dude," "bro," "man," every time Zak thinks he's touched by a ghost and every time Aaron's mouth hinges open in horror. Tonight's drink? Well, if you're gonna get possessed and take sips for all the above key triggers, I'd suggest something to truly get you possessed - tequila.

Urban Legend: The Hook

One of the most beloved urban legends of all time is " The Hook ." We Americans love our urban legends. This classic old-time one goes like this; a couple on lover's lane listening to music and making out, hear an announcer come on to warn that a serial killer has just escaped from a nearby institution. Supposedly, the killer has a hook for a hand. The upset lovers decide to leave when they start hearing creepy sounds. When they arrive home, they find the hook caught in the car door handle. Many variations have been done of this theme, but it seemed to serve as a cautionary tale for young adults and the dangers in the world, especially when you're not focused on your environment.

Haunting: Flight 401

( Above. That's Loft on the left and Repo on the right ) I’m totally giving away my age when I say, I recall when this made-for-tv horror movie “ The Ghost of Flight 401 ” ( I believe it's easier to find on VHS ) came out in 1978. Starring Ernest Borgnine, Kim Bassinger and many other familiar 70s faces, this movie had a huge urban legend surrounding it. Lucky you - here it is in full - Was there ever a flight 401 that started an airplane haunting? The movie premise: An aircraft crashes in the Florida Everglades, killing 103 passengers. After the wreckage is removed, salvageable parts from the plane are used to repair other aircraft. Soon passengers and crew on those aircraft report seeing what they believe to be the ghost of the wrecked airplane's flight engineer. Here’s some info I got on the true story here : On the night of Friday, December 29th, 1972 Eastern Airlines Flight 401 was carrying 176 people as it neared it's destination of the Miami Airport. Flying th...

The 1970s Paranormal Geek Breeding Ground

The 1970s ushered in a whole new love for the paranormal for the first time since the early 20th century spiritualists' movement. Anyone growing up in those times couldn't help but be changed because of the very milieu of our popular culture. Paranormal and horror were hitting us around every turn, and real life was pretty scary too!  The Events - Free loving, breakdown of family units, tons of drugs and resulting addictions, pollution issues, 3-mile island, cults, the "Bomb" hovering in the background of our minds, oil shortages, Middle East hostage situations, disillusionment with a president, soldiers coming home from war, financial recession. It was a time of crashing mania from the high of the 60s and a general lack about the future, the government, the environment, and the economy.  Serial killers - It began with the serial killers of the 70s - a new obscene activity that was on the upswing with killer such as John Wayne Gacy, Hillside Stranglers, The Zodiac K...

Last I'm Saying About the Tent Flap Video

CGI? Well, thank you MK Davis for picking over that video with the amazing detail you have for flaws. It seems he located a bit of what looks like CGI bad editing . I've said it before and I'll say it again, what MK does helps us all to have the best images to decide if what we see is real or not. The damn scenario never lined up, but when you a very 3-dimensional looking tent flap and a 2-dimensional image of a creature outside, something really doesn't jive.
